What to Expect When It’s Time
We are dedicated to making your pet’s end-of-life planning and euthanasia procedure as easy as possible for you both. Below are some general things you can expect when you come in for your pet’s euthanasia appointment in Tewksbury, MA.
Paperwork & Discussion of the Process
The first step is going over paperwork and having a conversation about the euthanasia process. We will also discuss cremation options with you, so you know what’s available. Payment can be difficult at this time, so if you’d prefer to pay right away, instead of after the appointment, we can arrange that for you.
Saying Goodbye
Our team will give you as much time as you need to say goodbye to your pet. We leave the decision up to the client whether they would like to be present or not for the euthanasia, as we know it is not an easy decision to make. When you are ready to move forward, if needed the veterinarian may administer a sedative first to relax your pet. Once they are fully sedated, we will place an intravenous catheter for administering the euthanasia solution. Your pet will not feel any discomfort or stress during this time. As soon as the catheter is placed, we can give you and your family (if they are present) more time with your pet. There is no rush in this process; we want to accommodate you as best we can to make the experience as stress-free as possible. We must note that, due to the sedation and your pet’s condition, it may be slightly difficult to place the catheter, as your pet may have low blood pressure at this time. As soon as the catheter is placed, we can give you and your family (if they are present) more time with your pet. There is no rush in this process; we want to accommodate you as best we can to make the experience as stress-free as possible.
