Have you ever had to chase your dog down the street after he bolted out the front door? Has your cat given you the slip more than once? Pet microchipping can’t prevent your four-legged friend from getting the adventure bug, but it can greatly increase the odds of a reunion.
Microchips are a quick and easy way to help animal hospitals and shelters trace lost pets back to their families, and we’re happy to provide this service to our patients.
Placing a microchip is affordable, easy, and virtually painless. Your veterinarian will inject the HomeAgain microchip under your pet’s skin between the shoulder blades, where it will remain for the rest of their life. The most important part of the process is registering the microchip’s unique ID number into the HomeAgain National Pet Recovery Database. This ensures that if your pet gets lost and ends up at another animal hospital or shelter, the staff members will be able to scan the chip and locate you through the database.
